# Turn on notifications

Turn on notifications so you know right away when a parent books, cancels or sends you a message.

## On the phone app

After you sign in, the app shows a **Turn on notifications** card.

1. Tap **Enable**.
2. When your phone asks, allow notifications.

If you tapped **Not now** or blocked notifications, the card does not come back. Turn them on for the DropIn Center app in your phone's settings instead.

## On a computer

When you sign in, you may see an **Enable browser notifications** card in the corner. Click **Enable**, then allow notifications when your browser asks.

You can also do it later:

1. Click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then click **Settings**.
2. Open the **Notifications** tab.
3. Under **Browser notifications**, click **Enable**.

When it works, you see **On for this device**. Do this on each computer and browser you use. To stop them, click **Disable**.

If you see **Notifications are blocked in your browser**, unblock them in your browser's site settings (the icon next to the address bar), then refresh the page.

## Choose what you get

1. Open **Settings**, then the **Notifications** tab. On the phone app, tap **More**, then **Settings**.
2. For each category, turn **Push** and **Email** on or off: **Bookings**, **Messages**, **Payments**, **Reviews**, **Marketing** and **System**.
3. Tap **Save Preferences**.

**Push** covers both phone and browser notifications. **Safety Alerts**, such as incident reports and unauthorized pickup attempts, are always on and can't be turned off.

## What triggers a notification

For example:

- A parent books with you.
- A parent cancels a booking.
- A parent sends you a message.
- You get a new review.

## The bell

All your notifications also appear under the bell at the top of the screen. A red number shows how many are unread. Tap a notification to mark it as read, tap **Mark all read** to clear the count, or tap **View all notifications** to see the full list.
