# Share photos with parents

Send parents photos of their child during the day, either in the care log or in a message.

## Check photo permission first

Open the child's booking and look at **Authorizations**. A tick next to **Photos** means the parent allows photos. A cross means they do not.

## Share a photo in the care log

1. Open **Bookings** (left sidebar on a computer, bottom tab bar on the phone app).
2. Tap the child's booking, then tap **Care Log**.
3. Tap **Add entry**, then tap **Photo**.
4. Add the photo:
   - On a computer, drop an image on the box, or click it to pick a file.
   - On the phone app, tap the box to take a photo or pick one from your library.
5. Add a caption if you like, for example what the child was doing.
6. Tap **Share photo**.

The parent gets a notification that a new photo of their child is ready.

You can also add a photo to a **Meal**, **Snack**, **Activity**, **Milestone** or **Incident** entry. Tap **Add a photo** in the form before you save it.

To remove a photo before you save, tap the **X** on the preview. After you save, the entry can't be edited.

## Send a photo in a message

1. Open the conversation with the parent in **Messages**.
2. Tap the paperclip (**Attach image**) and pick a photo. On a computer you can also paste or drop an image into the message box.
3. Add a message if you like, then tap send.

## Photo rules

- Only image files work, such as JPG, PNG or HEIC.
- Each image must be 5 MB or less. On the phone app, care log photos are made smaller for you before they upload.
- You can't share photos in the care log after the booking is completed, or in a message about a canceled booking.
